It is also known as Kotla, was fortress built by Feroz Shah Tughlaq when he founded Ferozabad, his version of Delhi, in AD 1360. Built by local quartzite stone, and one end of the wall enclosure are the surviving remnants of the Jami Masjid. North of Jami Masjid are the remains of three-tiered pyramidal structure topped by a 13-metre high and 27-tonne weigh Ashokan Pillar, made of sandstone, pillar glitters like gold when sun rays fall on it.
