Gaumukh Reservoir Travel Guide

A lonely flight of steps behind Samidheshvara Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, winds down to the Gaumukh (cow’s mouth) reservoir. Here, through the mouths of the cows carved on the rock face, the waters of an underground spring flow into the reservoir on to a sacred Shivlinga placed below. One can also feed the fish that live in the tank.
