Lakhnaur Sahib derives its name from the village where it is situated in. Lakhnaur was the ancestral village of Guru Gobind Singh's mother, Mata Gujari. At the age of four, Guru Gobind Singh accompanied by his mother stayed at Lakhnaur for over six months. Later, the house in which they had lived during their stay at Lakhnaur was migrated into a holy shrine. During the later half of the 18th century, the house was converted into a proper Gurdwara. The Gurdwara building is in the centre of a large walled compound and has some distinctive architectural features. During weekends you can attend Gurbani path and can enjoy Langer as prasad. Sit for some time in peaceful and quiet atmosphere at this place and take blessings.
