The Nanda Devi National Park, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, is one of the few high altitude national parks in the country. Established in the year 1982, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, and continues to be one of the most popular sites in the state of Uttarakhand. The park, dominated by 'Nanda Devi Peak', covers a total area of approximately 630km², and is a perfect vacation spot for families, friends and couples.
