Sis Ganj Gurudwara Travel Guide

One of the nine historical gurdwaras in Delhi is Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib – the oldest and most iconic Sikh shrines in Delhi. The temple has been built over the place Guru Teg Bahadur was beheaded by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb when the former refused to convert to Islam. Till date, the tree under which Guru Teg Bahadur was beheaded has been preserved in the premises and so is the well where the guru would bathe. The Gurudwara is visited by devotees on a regular basis and everyone is welcome here. Visitors to the Sis Ganj Sahib are recommended to dress modestly and to keep their heads covered at all times when inside the gurudwara.
