Solani Aqueduct Travel Guide

Built in 1846 by the Britishers, it was inspired from Alcantara Aqueduct in Portugal. It epitomises the perfect example of engineering marvel. It was considered as the most remarkable brick masonry structure. Constructed on the Solani River whose bed contains an average diameter of 0.25 millimetres of sand. It has the capability of carrying flood flow of 80,000 cusecs. The bed was lowered by 6 inches by replacing the old clay with concrete and bricks in 1956.
