Khatauli Travel and Tourism Guide

Located on NH 58 between Muzaffarnagar (24km) and Meerut (36km), it is a big rural town located on the banks of the upper Ganges canal. Its name is derived from an Urdu phrase 'Khitta-e-wali', a place where saints live. According to some historians, Rawa Rajput community owned big weigh machines hence name Rawa Tauli got distorted over a period of time as Khatauli. With the biggest sugar mill in the Asia (on the scale of production and storage capacity) to its credit, it has many attractions for the visitors including the Ganges canal.
