According to the myths, during British age an elephant named PIL was lost. During its search, the place got its name PILkhuwa which was a derivation ‘PIL kho gaya’. It is famous for Gandhi's dream 'Khadi' and is well known for small industries for manufacturing the Canvas, Handloom Jacquard, Khadi and printing work and specially bed sheets.
