The city is one of the most holy and historic place from the time of Vedic Yug. Situated 48 km to the northeast of Alwar, the name of the place was derived from “Raja Tejpal” descendent of Anangpal Tomar. It houses various tombs of Syed Mohammad Dost (Nana Barah Hazari), Rukn Alam Shaheed, Roshan Shaheed and Bhakan Shaheed in and around the town that are now pilgrimage spots. The city is dominated by Yadavs.
